Reflect on the following quotes from the chapter, what does each mean to you?

1. "Making ourselves fell ugly is not fun."..."This whole game is designed to make us hate ourselves."

Kayli Says: This quote is pretty much Shay saying that she might not want to turn pretty, but to just live in the moment, because she won't be herself, an Ugly, much longer.

2. "Everyone judged everyone else based on their appearance. People who were taller got better jobs...people killed one another over stuff like having different skin color." (Referring to when everyone was Ugly)

Kayli Says: Shay saying that being Pretty isn't all and everything, and that, just because you're different, doesn't mean that you're Ugly.

3. " It's the only way to make people equal." (Becoming Pretty)

Kayli Says: Tally, (Referring to the last quote made by Shay), thinks that the things that happened back then, like people killing people over skin color, were caused by the fact that everyone was different, and when people turn Pretty nowadays, everyone looks a little bit more alike so, in turn, there isn't as much fighting.
